The Organ

William Hill & Son

William Hill & Son were one of the main forces in 19th century organ building. Established by William Hill, the firm was subsequently handed down to his son, Thomas and then to his grandson, Arthur. The firm finally merged with Norman & Beard of Norwich in 1916, a year after the organ of All Hallows’ was built.

The following pages give an account of the firm’s work.
